The Faces of AlVelAl: Tamás Turcsán

This entrepreneur’s desire is to create a positive impact on the planet through his regenerative product.

This young man from Hungary specialises in marketing and business, an area that has kept him busy for most of his life and which has made him live in countries such as England and China, although now his entrepreneurial endeavour has been leading him to experiment with some products for some years, …. “Living in big cities made me realise the importance of health and meaningful work. It was a big change in my career when I decided I wanted to make a positive impact through food and farming. Over the years I have experimented with different products, but all with the same intention, to connect urban citizens with the mission to regenerate the planet,” says Tamás.

He has known AlVelAl since its inception, living in China he worked for John D Liu, ambassador of the Commonland Foundation’s ecosystem restoration movement, and through him he connected with Willem Ferwerda, co-founder of the Commonland Foundation, an entity that promotes the 4 returns (return of inspiration, return of social capital, return of natural capital and return of financial capital) and that has supported AlVelAl since its inception. “AlVelAl is like a nest to reconnect different people in the territory and start new projects that have a positive impact on the soil and the life of the territory”, says Turcsán, who sees the association as a role model for future initiatives.

Since he entered the AlVelAl territory after attending the Regeneration festival, he was inspired by the regenerative movement in the Southeast and decided to create a 100% regenerative product, a cream of blanched and roasted almonds, crushed in a stone grinder with honey, salt and seed oils, “The intention is for customers to try a high quality product and once they like it, they will ask themselves where it comes from and thus understand the concept of regenerative agriculture”, says Tamás, who is committed to a product that regenerates us as humanity from the inside, so that we can regenerate the earth.

His project to make almond cream called Magosero was one of the projects that won the Ideas Fund launched by AlVelAl, funds offered by the association with the aim of providing an amount to entrepreneurs who are interested in launching an innovative business case based on the restoration of the landscape and the four returns. “It was a great help to get the Ideas Fund, my project was classified as one of the 3 best, I make a high quality and 100% regenerative product that I hope, step by step, will take its place in the market”, says Tamás, who thinks that telling customers the story behind the regenerative products is the key to market them properly.

AlVelAl is a model for restoring and regenerating life with real intention,” says the Hungarian, who believes that in the future the association will be a benchmark for the whole issue of environmental restoration and regeneration.
